Site History
My first few websites were below subpar. I have no record of the layouts or pages, which is just as well considering they were so terrible. They were mostly hosted on Geocities and other ghastly free servers.
Then, a few years back (2003, I think), a lovely lady named Malicia was kind enough to host me on her domain
deadsilence.org. By then, my digital art skills and coding knowledge had gotten much better, and in turn, my web design skills improved as well. I also learned about optimizing images for the web, keeping coding nice and clean, and making sites as functional as possible. Most of what I know about CSS/HTML is self-taught.
In early 2007, Malicia's domain went down, and along with it, all the subdomains. However, as soon as it was back up, she kindly re-hosted my site. It stayed there until I registered my hosting and domain with
lunarpages.com on December 16th, 2008. It was a sort of "christmas present to myself".
The site was designed and created in Adobe Photoshop 5.5, the coding was done in Dreamweaver 8, and the files were uploaded using WS FTP Pro. This is currently the second layout for mirandaadria.com, and much thanks goes to these wonderful people for providing some of the stock I used:

Education
The first Computer Graphics courses I took were in the magnet program at South Miami Senior High. Afterwards, I attended Florida International University for 5 years, but eventually realized that I simply wasn't getting the education I wanted there. I transfered my credits to the New World School of the Arts (a collaborative art school between University of Florida and Miami Dade College) in Spring 2007. I received my Bachelor of Fine Art through the University of Florida in May 2009.
Some of the programs I am proficient with are: Adobe Photoshop 5.5-CS3, Adobe Illustrator 7.0-CS2, Adobe After Effects, Director MX 2004, Macromedia/Adobe Flash, Apophysis 2.06/3Dhack/2.07, Final Cut Pro HD, DVD Studio Pro, Maya, Terragen, 3DMax, Garageband, Microsoft Works, and WS FTP Professional.

Personal Info
Since I have a blog with more in-depth information about my life, this section will be short and sweet.
I've been using "Miranda Adria" for about 8 years now. I first started using it because I used to truly dislike my real name. So, I found two names that not only sounded well together, but had great meanings. Miranda means "one to be admired" and Adria means "from the dark river".
Other than art, I enjoy spending time with my husband, going shopping, playing billiards, partying with friends, video games, playing Magic the Gathering, and listening to music. Since I've recently moved, I don't get to see my friends as often as I used to.
If there's anything else you'd like to know, you can visit my
blog or
email me. Please, no extremely personal questions. That kind of stuff isn't any of your business, anyway.
